                       Q  3.) What are the advantages of installing a glass enclosure (fireplace doors)?

                      A.       A glass enclosure acts as a storm door for your fireplace.  It will keep

                                your heat and air conditioning from escaping up your chimney.  A glass

                                enclosure also will help heat loss after you have had a fire in your fireplace.

                                By allowing you to close off the fireplace once the fire has burned down, yet

                                allowing your damper to remain open over night. Thus keeping cool air, and

                                ash from blowing back into your home, as well as losing heat that my go up

                                the chimney. 

 

                        Q  4.)  What is a fireback?

                        A       A fireback surves two purposes.  It first protects the back firebrick

                                from the intense heat of the fires, which over time and do severe damage

                                to the back wall of the fireplace.   The fireback in turn reflects heat that

                                the back wall would absorb.

 

                        Q  5.)   How does one measure for a fireback?

                         A.       To measure for a fire back you are going to measure the width of

                                   the back wall, and from the back wall up to where it begins to curve

                                   back towards the firebox.

 

                         Q  6.)   How do I install a fireback?

                       A.        A fireback can be installed three ways.  a.) You can purchase

                                  a pair of brackets, that come with masonry bolts.  b.) You can purchase

                                   a pair of fireback feet to rest the fireback in.  c.) The fireback can be positioned

                                   so that it leans against the back wall behind the grate. However it is recommended

                                   to use either option a or b.
