Q  3.) What are the advantages of installing a glass enclosure (fireplace doors)?

                      A.       A glass enclosure acts as a storm door for your fireplace.
The enclosure also will help heat loss after you have had a fire in your fireplace.
By allowing you to close off the fireplace once the fire has burned down, yet allowing your
damper to remain open over night. Thus keeping cool air, and ash from blowing back into your home,
as well as losing heat that may go up the chimney.

Please check with your local fire department or inspector as to how long to leave your damper open after a burning a fire.

                        Q  4.)  What is a fireback?

A       A fireback serves two purposes.  It first protects the back firebrick from the intense heat of wood burning fires,
which over time can do severe damage to the back wall of the fireplace.
The fireback in turn reflects heat that the back wall would absorb.

Q  5.)   How does one measure for a fireback?

                         A.       To measure for a fire back you are going to measure the width of
the back wall, and from the back wall up to where it begins to curve
                                   back towards the firebox.

                         Q  6.)   How do I install a fireback?

                        A.        A fireback can be installed three ways.
a.) You can purchase a pair of brackets, that come with masonry bolts.
b.) You can purchase a pair of fireback feet.
c.) You may choose to lean the fireback against the back wall behind the fireplace grate.
However it is recommended that you use either option a or b.
*Please note: Firebacks are intended for wood burning fireplaces only!
(Use with a gas log system could trip the heat sensor, or damage your system)*
