- FOUR TO FIVE ON, ONE OFF
- #1) Run your system for a maximum of four to five hours only, then one hour off.
- Keep in mind that, gas logs are decorative, not heating appliances.
Should you not follow this tip, you will have over heating issues, trip the heat sensors and eventually damage your unit.
- SOOT HAPPENS!
- #2.) When a yellow flame comes into contact with something it produces carbon, which makes the schar scar (soot) you see. That is just the nature of the beast so to speak. Although soot may appear thick like black velvet, looks can be deceiving! You will have to remove the logs and whisk broom them off (outdoors) once in a while.
It is best to take a photo of the logs prior to dismantling them for cleaning, so you know where to place them when you are done.
- VERY IMPORTANT :Never vacuum your gas logs, or the contents of you gas log unit.
- PREASSURE, PRESSURE, PRESSURE!
- #3.) Correct gas pressure is the key! A gas line run right, with proper pressure is the key to those wonderful Eiklor Flames!
- CCFS RECOMMENDATIONS
- #4.) It is not the best practice to run your unit with sliding mesh or gate mesh doors closed. For the same reason you burn the unit with the glass doors fully open. It is also best to avoid putting a fireback, or any other additional accessories into the fireplace with the gas logs.
This will prevent any possibility of tripping the heat sensors in your unit.
- 5.) Leave that pilot running YEAR ROUND Mr. Pilot Lite, is like your little maintenance man.
He is hard at work helping to keep your unit dry,and those nasty little buggos and spidies out of the valve orifices.
